How we plan a wedding in Abu Dhabi
A wedding in Abu Dhabi is rarely one event. It is a season: a proposal on the water, a milka at home with the closest family, a henna night in a majlis full of aunts and cousins, then the wedding night itself with the zaffa, the kosha and dinner for hundreds. Each occasion has its own guest list, dress code and rhythm, and each one leans on different vendors.
So we start with a conversation about your families, not a mood board. Who hosts which night, whether the celebration is segregated, how many guests each side expects, which customs matter most and where you are happy to modernise. From there we build one plan and one budget for the whole journey, so choices made for the engagement still make sense on the wedding day.
Then we do the legwork: shortlisting venues by type and capacity, briefing kosha builders, florists, photographers, zaffa bands and caterers, and keeping every quote in one tracker. On each day a coordinator runs the timings so the bride, the groom and both mothers can actually enjoy the night.
The journey, chapter by chapter
Five occasions, one plan. Each chapter has its own guests, customs and vendors; we keep them in one story.

The proposal
The question, asked somewhere private and beautiful: a rose heart on a yacht at sunset, a candlelit room or a quiet dinner, with a photographer hidden nearby.

Engagement and katb ketab
The families meet, the milka or katb ketab is held at home or in a small hall, and the shabka is presented. We style an engagement corner with a sofa, flowers and soft light.

Henna night
An evening for the women of both families: majlis seating, henna trays, traditional songs and a setup in deep greens, golds or soft pastels.

The wedding night
The zaffa, the kosha, dinner for hundreds and, in many families, separate halls for women and men. A coordinator runs every cue so both families can enjoy the night.

Honeymoon ideas
After the celebrations, a room dressed in rose petals for the wedding night and ideas for the days that follow. We share suggestions; flights and hotels are booked by you.

Questions couples ask
Do you plan weddings outside Abu Dhabi city?
We work across Abu Dhabi city, including Saadiyat, Yas, Al Reem and Khalifa City. Al Ain is available on request, with travel and setup time added to the quote.
Are the venue and catering included in your fee?
No. Our planning fee covers our work. Venue hire, catering and other vendor invoices are separate unless a signature bundle says otherwise.
Can you plan one occasion, such as the henna night?
Yes. Many families book us for a single night, then add the engagement or wedding later. See henna night planning for what a typical evening includes.
Do you arrange the marriage contract?
We plan the celebration. The contract and court steps are completed by the couple with the court or an authorised marriage officiant.
How do payments work?
Your booking is confirmed in writing, then a 50% deposit secures the date and the balance is settled before the event. Tabby, Tamara, card and cash are accepted.
